Jesus Christ

1. Human Nature

Christians believe that God created human as an image of himself to rule over the earth. It does not mean that humans look like God, but God made them in such a way that there was no evil in them. Christians believe that the natural state of human beings has fallen from being innocent to committing sins. Many Christians believe that this fall began when Adam(from Adam and Eve) created his first sin and died and his death also brought physical death in this world.

2. Seen and Unseen

Christians believe that God has created everything that can be seen or unseen by a living being’s eye. And this is included in the first chapter of Bible.

3. Jesus

Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God and he was given birth by Virgin Mary and he lived a perfect and sinless life. He was sent on this Earth for our salvation. Jesus’s death is not only believed to be a tragedy but also that he suffered and died for our sins. It was believed that Jesus was so innocent that he was the perfect blood sacrifice to clear the sins of not only one person but the whole world. His death is represented as Good Friday, that is the day of his crucifixion.

4. Jesus’s Resurrection

Jesus died after the crucifixion, and he was buried in the tomb owned by the man who believed in Jesus. Now it is believed that Jesus was resurrected (brought back to life) by the God on the third day. It is also believed that the death and resurrection of the Jesus were already written on scriptures, even before his death. Jesus’s resurrection is celebrated on Easter Sunday.

It is believed that anyone who dies before the Judgement day can be resurrected. Christians believe that Jesus’s death and resurrection opened the door to salvation.

It is believed in Christianity that one day Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead. It is said that Jesus will return on this Earth at an unknown time to save this world, to rid this world of all kind of sins, to destroy the enemies of the God and reward the followers of Jesus. It is quoted in –

“At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.”

7. Angels

Satan/Lucifer is one of these fallen Angels, and he is said to be at war against God.

8. Prayer

9. Three persons

Christians believe that God is only one and exists eternally in three persons – God of the Father, God of the son and God of the Holy Spirit also known as the Trinity. There is only one God in three persons, and while they are distinct from one another in their relations of origin and their relations with one another, they are stated to be one as a whole.

11. Churches

In Christianity, Churches are not believed to be some religious buildings, but a church is considered to be an assembly or a group of people who are true Christians, who are true believers and who share certain elements of doctrine and practice.

12. Burial

Christianity believes in the burial of the deceased person instead of burning their dead bodies since they believe in the concept of the resurrection. There are three stages that are included in the burial-

(i) The first stage involves the priest and other clergy going to the house of the people who have lost the deceased one. One of the cleric carries the cross, and the other cleric carries a vessel of holy water. Before they remove the coffin from the house, it is sprinkled with the holy water. Then they set out for the church.

(ii) The second stage involves the cycle of prayers and absolution. The candles are lit around the coffin, and they are allowed to burn throughout the stage.

(iii) After the second stage, the body inside the coffin is carried to the grave where it is buried, and the place is blessed with a single prayer if it was not blessed already.
