Some Lesser Known Facts About Bansilal M. Jumaani
- He migrated to Bombay with his family from Pakistan during the partition of India in 1947.
- Initially, he enjoyed numerology as a hobby while working as a finance broker.
- As his hobby turned into his passion, he read more than 200 books on numerology. He was taught various scriptures by a priest at the Sitladevi temple near four bungalows, Andheri (Mumbai).
- He practiced his art on his friends and family members, who encouraged him to turn to a career in numerology.
- He continued working as a numerologist and avoided getting branded as a ‘Jyotishi’ (Soothsayer), which, according to him, might have made it difficult for his daughters to get married.
- He failed at several businesses, after which he used numerology to learn that he isn’t supposed to find success as a businessman.
- According to him, successfully helping a film star change the date of a court hearing to a specific day led to the actor’s acquittal in the case and proved a turning point in the career of Bansilal M Jumaani.
- He had worked with several celebrities, advising them on the spelling changes with respect to their name and their films and TV shows. During an interview, he discussed his process of adding and deleting letters from a person’s name based on their vibrations and said,
Each letter has a vibration. And if the sum total of these vibrations in a person’s name is in consonance with the birthdate, there is no problem. But if it is not, then we delete or add letters or numbers.”
- According to his son, Bansilal’s advice to change his name from ‘Sanjay Jumani’ to ‘Sanjay B Jumaani‘ helped transform his life and change his career from sales and marketing, where he couldn’t find much success, to numerology.
- One of his most successful predictions, which brought him to the limelight, was his advice to his friend, film distributor and producer Farhad Nathani, to change the spelling of the film ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ (2000) by adding the letter ‘A’ in the words ‘Naa’ and ‘Pyaar.’
- The film went on to become extremely successful, making an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2002 for winning the most awards for a movie, winning a total of 92 awards.
- He is also famous for advising producer Ekta Kapoor to use the letter ‘K’ in the titles of her TV serials, which gained extreme popularity.
- He had helped his client, former Indian cricketer Saurav Ganguly, to change his jersey number from 99 to 24.
